Islamic Calendar for 2013 with Corresponding
Hijrah dates with “Rabbana” theme:
In moments of despair the human heart cries out for
his/her Lord and says, “My Lord! Help me,
have mercy on me!”
and he is relieved of the pain. Prayer has power, prayer is solace,
and prayer provides release from stress.
Allah says in Al-Quran “And when My slaves ask you concerning Me, then I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me.” Al-Quran 2:186. In another verse Allah says, “And your Lord says: Call on Me; I will answer your (prayer),†Al-Quran: 40:60, and again He says, “Then do ye remember Me; I will remember you.†Al-Quran: 2:152
My mother always said that God is ever ready to help you. You move one step in His direction and He would come running towards you. We gratefully know that Allah has blessed us with the power of prayer to deal with any pain or distress that we may suffer. And then in His kindness He has also revealed to us in Al-Quran so many prayers of the prophets, messengers and righteous people.
In this calendar I have brought together a few of these prayers which are the words of humans but are included in the Words of Allah (Al-Quran) for our daily remembrances. These prayers certainly possess great virtues and blessings for us.
